Hi Akansha,
I am sure you must have sorted out the problem and now would be in a better situation.
However I would wish to give following suggestion if ever you happen to get similar situation or to any other person who would face similar situation -
If you have a new joinee who you feel is almost siting idle and your supervisors think he/she would not be able to handle the task that is expected from you to be accomplished, I think as his/her colleague, you should try to help him/her out by giving him/her brief on the work assigned, and what is to be done.
You can ask for suggestions from the person in that matter.
You can give some minor task in that whole job and try to see where he/she stands.
Give an honest report to your superiors stating the progress report of your junior.
If you might be aware of, in order to climb the ladder up, it is essential to help the people below us to grow. When they would grow, we would automatically grow.
This is my philosophy. You are free to object it.

Hi Ankita,
I completely agree with you, as the more you help others the more you learn.
But where dealing with favoritism is concerned, there the way to help oneself, is by concentrating on one's own growth. That will help ignore the negative things happening around.
As the statement rightly goes "Be so busy competing with one's self, that you are left with no time to complain about others"

Hai members,
regarding showing favouritism is ones attitude. Some people likes the personality and some other likes the presentation of issue.
If one can assess the personality of boss or colleague in ones angle the question of favouritism vanishes.
And another thing in the life is of their needs as per the needs people grab other on their way by showing soft corner or do some favour.
So instead of blaming or criticising other one should put legs in others show.

Hi Akansha,
I am 100% convinced with Mr. Shamin,we need to work hard & honestly without thinking any thing negative because how honestly we are working is directly proportional to our growth,so don't waste your focus & energy on irrelevant things rather use it to sharpen your skill & knowledge.
