As per my past experience i would say that The meaning of offer letter is "You are selected for that company" if u are wish to join or not its tottaly depend on you. Since u hve given confirmation email. This is only offer letter... still now u are not employee of that company. Once you have accepted appionted letter then only this kind of condition will apply.
Please send me that offer letter contents. i would be able to tell in brifely after seeing that contents only.
