From your post it seems you are desperate for a break..! Give your mind and body a break of around 7-10 days. Give the notice period to company finish it off. Then after take a break and start searching for the job, thats a better idea.
I wont suggest you to go on leave and search for job, cause:-
1) If in case, you get on leave for 5-7 days then think what if you dont get proper job in these 5-7 days..!! You would be again in trouble.
2) The worst scenario would be, you appear for interview - All goes well. Just think that if in case a reference check is done with your present employer, you would land in trouble.
So just think before you leap:)
