Earned Leave and Privilege leave one and same thing. It is defined under factories act. A person who has completed 240 days can become eligible for EL or PL. Whereas CL is governed by National holidays and casual leave act. A person is eligible for 7 CL and 7 SL per year. We can carry forward our EL but we can't carry forward for SL or CL. Hello All,
Please let me know that how many casual leaves one can take in a month.
Also please correct me on entitlement of EL, CL,SL as per law in Punjab, Haryana & Delhi.
As per my knowledge:-
1. i) In Punjab, Haryana & Himachal shop & establishment act, 18 earned leaves, 7 casual(Total 25) & additional 7 sick leaves are entitled to employee out of ESI i.e total 32 pa.
ii) In Delhi, 15 Earned, 12 sick & casual(Total 27 Leaves)for both with & without ESI.
2. Only earned leaves are carry forward in both. In Punjab: maximum upto 30 & in Delhi upto 45.
3. There is no rule of Leave encashment upto the time employee is in employment but if he/she left the job by any reason then the same is entitled to encashment of un-availed leaves maximum as mentioned above @ latest salary drawn at the time of leaving.
