Dear Saswata,

My education (Phd in HRM) and 14 years of rich experience in leading corporates (HCL/ AMEX/ Zamil etc) coupled with life membership of bodies like AIMA/ ISQ etc do not allow me to make fun of anyone...

am a life member of AIMA simply to help young managerial talent to grow...

i feel you have a short attention span..

read the "case study styled narration" once again but this time do not be in a hurry...

there are several parts:

1. notice period buyout

2. new employer is willing to pay

3. content of bond

make notes...

checkout different aspects with different experts...

learn to be holistic (its tough but payoffs will be huge when it comes to negotiating anywhere)

join various industry forums,

pick additional courses...

and increase your knowledge both in depth n breath...

the way you articulate yourself poses a major problem for you in work environment..

if you are working in a corporate where team sizes are large and there are specialists for every arena.. there your seniors would be able to see that you speak in a hurry without checking all the facts, this coupled with lack of knowledge can ruin your career..

if you need help, am there...

warm regards

surya

I think you need to curb your ego
your PHD in HR is of little consequence to me
And dont think that everyone one else is a junior in some corner of a factory.
Perhaps if you focus on resolving the problem that people have put instead of trying to impose importance of your degree on others, we all would be better off.
Unlike you, i do not need to brag about myself.

Two monks were washing their bowls in the river when they noticed a scorpion that was drowning. One monk immediately scooped it up and set it upon the bank. In the process he was stung. He went back to washing his bowl and again the scorpion fell in. The monk saved the scorpion and was again stung.
The other monk asked him, "Friend, why do you continue to save the scorpion when you know it's nature is to sting?"
"Because," the monk replied, "to save it is my nature."

kind attention everyone:

1. This person in the forum does not devote sufficient time to read "people's narratives".

next he seems to be in a hurry to pronounce judgments...

you can make out his education/ experience by reading the first few posts...

2. i dont know who is role model is but it is certainly not Abraham Lincoln/ Lal Bahadur Shastri/ Abul Kalam/ Hellen Keller etc...

They rose to the highest positions and were born in extremely challenging circumstances...

he grumbles about other people's education & experience yet does not realise that he can achieve anything in life provided he sets his heart on it...

3. next he lacks basic courtesies needed both in personal and professional life.

for the last 3 days i have been seeing him arguing for no rhyme and reason.. a person may be in a foul mood for 1 hour/ 1 day.. there is always a time when anger diffuses..

during my stays abroad, i noticed people dont argue or enter into fights when road accidents happen... they will find you a taxi and buy you a drink also..

i feel this person seriously needs meditation/ counselling

I think the query here is on the justification of asking for guarantee from the employee for min. 1 year working in the organisation as the employee in question has received the reimbursement of shortfall Notice period buy out. Arguement on irrelevant matter may be avoided.
