Dear Sumit,
What help do you want on strategic thinking? I have a client in Abu Dhabi to whom I provide on-line mentoring services. As a part of my mentoring service, I also guide/coach him on "Entrepreneurship". Perhaps you could be aware that strategic thinking is foundation of entrepreneurship.
The biggest challenge of strategic thinking is that not many understand the meaning of strategy correctly. If they haven't understood the meaning then how can you expect them to execute the strategy?
Ok...

Dear Sumit,
For insurance, anything that matters is sales. For effective selling, you need to create your own sales process.
Not many insurance companies barring of course the top one of India, has devised their own sales process. You can do that. Obtain from your managers as much information as possible on why sale happened or why sale did not happen.
Secondly, encourage your sales and operations staff to pass on information about any operational goof up that happens. Once you come to know about it, make it as case study for your respective training module.Once you start accumulating such examples, you will not be required to give any out of company examples for any topic.
For further information, you may contact me on my mobile.
All the best!

Dear Sumit,
If I may restate your problem, one of your company's goals is to "make the organization a knowledge center" and you are trying to understand how training can contribute to this goal. I hope I have got the situation clearly.
Before you get into details, first of all, you will need to get some more clarity on the overall goal.
1. What do you mean by knowledge center ? Do you mean you need people to possess a certain level of knowledge regarding industry and other specific areas / Do you perceive the organization to possess knowledge( could be repository, an online system etc etc) which enables people to access knowledge when required ? Or is there any other thought here ?
I am asking you this, since in each of these scenarios, you would need to do very different activities and training would take very different meanings in each of these.
Hope I have given you some useful pointers,
All the best,
Santhi
