I have been working in xxxx from 9 months, was recruited for Automation and even after committing the same profile in my project my manager put me on a different profile and when i asked them to release me from the project they manipulated the situation for a while and then once over the tele conference my SPM threaten me to get Terminated . I felt really very demotivated and felt being suppressed i asked then again the same n after a month they committed me release by this September, but now September has passed and they are still manipulating the situation and holding me back into the project just for the sake of their billing and now making excuse of client is not willing to release and wants to hold me back into project and i m sure they are lying as i know what i have worked and what quality work i have done as i was not even interested in that work.

They have manipulated the situation so much that i have done the HR escalation and explained her everything , initially i felt that she would actually help me in sorting the issue but now i m feeling that she has also been manipulated and she has also started to speak same manipulative things which my managers were using.

I would like to mention the clear and true health condition that i m facing "Depression" been even diagnosed in NIMHANS 6 months back and i m trying really hard to get over this .

and this situation is making me so stressed that every other day i become so much stressed that i m really feeling trapped and my depression is not at all improving and even getting worse.

I thought of telling this condition to HR or my manager but as of my experience till now i think they will just take it as a trick of mine trying to manipulate them and wont even take it seriously as i am man if i would have been a girl i guess it would have been way easier to convince them.

I Want to come out of this situation asap as its not letting me keep working on my depression.

Please suggest me what are the things can be done in this case in respect of xxxx

It is clear from what you have written that the company can’t assign you the profile you want for whatever reasons.

Now, you can either accept this situation or feel depressed about it.

I am sure that you have done your best to fight this situation and have reached a point where further negotiations or talks with the company will only hamper your survival there.

Here’s what you can do:

1) Meet a psychologist and get help with counseling.

2) Meet a psychiatrist and take SOS medication to combat depression.

3) Start practicing stress management exercises like meditation or creative visualization.

4) Search for a new job and this time make sure that you get the profile you want.

5) Be positive and see that this is not the end of this world and it is just a job that you need to change.

I would advise you to watch following documentaries for your personal growth and positive mind set:

When find unable to adjust within the organisational environments it is always better to part ways with the company rather than becoming emotional and getting depressed. Jobs in companies are not always of the taste of the employees.
Better search another job and till then try to adjust yourself in the situation provided to you.

@LEARNINGNOVO Thanks for the response.
This is not true that company can not assign me the work i m interested in as if u r aware of the working style of service organisations then u much have come up with a different response, these things happens in these organisation as managers wants to hold their billing as their billing is the business revenue that they showcase for their performance.

Hi Himanshu,
My suggestions were based on what you had written.
If you think your company can assign you the kind of work you want, please pursue the case. But, do remember that you can only do so effectively if you take care of your mental and emotional health.
By the way, how long do you think your current project is going to last? What is so troubling in this project that you want a change?

Hello Himanshu,

While empathizing with your situation, I would neverthless be suggesting something CAN cause you further pain NOW.....but I ASSURE you that will be temporary & shortlived leading to a long-term bettering of your situation.

First a few basics.

You mentioned that '.....if u r aware of the working style of service organisations then u much have come up with a different response' in reply to Atul Sharma's first Posting.

Like he clarified, NO WHERE in your First Posting did you even mention it was an IT Company....leaving it to the members to make their own set of presumptions. Your use of the word "Automation" gave me the impression that it COULD be an IT Company & you COULD be into S/W Testing.....whether services or product is again a blank & is left to the members to make another presumption.

Do you think this way of viewing of issues COULD have had some impact in your work? THIS IS NOT TO put you in any bad light.......sometimes it happens. Just give this a thought.

Coming to your statement "This is not true that company can not assign me the work i m interested in".

Are there any very strong reasons that you have to work in THIS Company ONLY?

Don't you think you will find openings for you in other Companies.....possibly many? I know you can....since S/W Testing is a regularly hired skillset. What stops you from trying to just move from here after you get another job?

Do you think it's worth getting depressed & hospitalized for a guy like your Manager who plays games?

The choice is YOUR'S.

Another way of looking @ the situation:

Like I usually mention, what the OTHER guy [be it individual or Company] says or does is NEVER in your control. What's in YOUR control is YOUR action/response. Do you see anything coming out of your hassles that will address your situation by harping on what the manager or the company did & is doing?

Here again, you have a choice....

Just go ahead & change your job before it's too late......I am sure you know that in IT sector, more the gap between jobs tougher it becomes to justify the gap.

And also suggest begin to ignore some aspects of any job that you may not agree with or just abhor......like the focus on billings [which could be 'excessive in your opinion but may NOT be so in other's view]. I have a feeling that you MAY have commented on this aspect with your manager or the HR that has aggravated the situation here.

All the best.

Hi Tajsateesh ,

Thank you so much writing such a well articulated and well Understood response.

I shows my agreement on your response of my response to atul, it could have been better and clear and would have prevented the members from presumptions.

As i am not the regular writer in this forum so i was not actually aware that they will remove the organization name from the Title.

So i had actually mentioned the Organisation Name in the Title of the Post which Intuitively gives answer to both of your Question: 1. Whether it is an IT Company 2. Service or Product Org.

Answer to your question my Statements:

1. As i have recently changed company within the span of a period of 1 year i worked in my last origination for 1 yr only and then came here , as i m seeking some stability in my career ,that is why actually not much interested to switch again if things workout here as it's been only 9 months in this org.

2. I Completely agree with you on this that i don't have control over this (what they say and do), it is of no use thinking over it and just to get the clarity on my action that i should/would take i posted my thoughts here.

I appreciate your response and would definitely affect my action positively in handling the situation.

Thanks

Hello Himanshu,
While agreeing with your view that 9 months is too short a time to make another job change, you also need to bear in mind about the cost-benefits of the decision...any decision for that matter in life or career.
I DON'T think getting into NIMHANS is worth it EVEN IF the Company is Google or MS.....or for that matter Obama's job.
Let's NOT mix-up issues & angles of viewing the problem.
As far as handling the change within 9 months--during I/Vs--you COULD take the stand that you were on bench for much of the time & are afraid of loosing touch with the subject.....and knowing the current situation in IT Services Companies, one would gauge your stand [with much of the work being automated, the demand for coders & testers is undergoing a vast change now everywhere] accordingly, combining with your I/V performances.
All the Best.
