Dear All, I am a staffing professional with close to 13 Yrs of exp and have experience in the fields of talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, client servicing, treasury management, end to end employee lifecycle etc. I wanted the opinion and advise of my esteemed friends here on the certifications/ trainings that I could undertake for my career advancement.
Also I want to get into a large enterprise however, most of organizations that I apply into tell that my profile is not apt/ suitable as according to them I do not have the kind of HR experience they look for. What changes, additions can I make in my CV/ career to move from staffing firms to a large enterprise. Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

Dear HR AAthava Garments,
Appreciate your response. I have applied for HRBP roles in various organizations. However, my CV has not been considered as they say that my CV is not suitable. They need resources who have worked on areas such as comp & ben, organization development, etc. for at-least 4-5 yrs. Though I have touched upon all the facets of HR and the entire life-cycle of an employee coming from a staffing background acts as a disadvantage here.
Even if i were to continue in my current domain what kind of certifications and trainings could I pursue to get a career advancement and also to get into a large enterprise.

Dear Nidhi,
Greetings .....
You did not mention your academic qualification and thus, my comments would be based on information as available. Writing a CV is an art as the same is expected to give correct information about a Candidate to a Prospective Employer. HR deals with many aspects of Employee Lifecycle and making a proposition that one knows whole gamut of it does not really stand a chance. Moreover, it makes it difficult and practically impossible during an interview session.
What I feel is you choose 2 or 3 area in HR that interest you most and concentrate on that. Also, I feel your experience is not sufficient for appointment as VP - HR. I hope you would kindly pardon me if I did sound rude.
Regards & Wishing you all the best .....

Thank you Soumitra for your feedback. Appreciate it. However, my query was on the training's and certifications i could do to take the next leap in my career. As a staffing person my main area of concentration is recruitment. However, being in staffing also equips us to be extensively involved in employee relations and client servicing. apart from the other facets of HR. Can you suggest on the certifications bit? I have done BA with Eco hons and PGDBM in HR. I am not looking for VP - HR role but want to know if by doing some certifications or by undergoing some trainings I can add weightage to my profile and take the next leap. Kindly suggest.

Hello Nidhi,
HR BP role can involve HR Process implementation or HR strategic involvement or a combination. Multinationals or big organizations hire people with this experience but not from recruitment background as the skills of SOP creation and implementation are different from that of recruitment. Thus, you need HR BP experience in smaller organizations to proceed to big organizations. To my knowledge no such renowned certificate is available that earns this experience. However, local institutes can train you with strategic side of HR.
Thank You.

Nagur.
