Hey any specific reason for female or just because the other HR is male. Hehehehe :-) :) ;)

Basically, gender has no business with HR profession. Moreover gender discrimination is an offence under western countries labour laws for example:
In USA there is authority called-
"Equal Employment Opportunity Commission"
Who take action against any such discrimination in employment on the basis of gender, religion, ethinisity etc etc.
Even in Australia, New Zealand and Canada this discrimination is criminal offence.
It is therefore no Civilised, Educated and Highly Qualified CEO will promote such in-humanly discrimination on public domain to exhibit his and his company's perverted psychology and work ethic or culture in that organization.
This is also a matter of Human Rights in gender discrimination in social life how any country can tolerate of silene on such Human Rights issues. may be due to third world law and order or ignorance of the Global Practices by Indian Corporates is funny example the quality and standards of Indian Corporates.
If Indian CEO is desiring female HR for his personal preference is matter between the company and CEO............
Previously Bosses used to preferred Female Secretary or Personal Secretary as Status Symbole but now use same measurement of scale applied for HR by preferring Female HR.
They are not only underminig but also victimizing HR of this perverted psychology of some uncivilised CEO's. Who don't respect HR but take this profession for granted by such frivilous advertisement.
May CEO want time pass item girl on board for HR to entertain himself.
We as HR Professional can only condemed such illiterate and half-knowledge CEO breeds in the Corporate world who are no good to society and civilization as whole.

Hi there,
I doubt whether any Authority of the level of CEO or MD from the company has asked this placement agency to advertise for Female HR Head.
Because generally these Top Level CEO or MD people are well educated and cultured as well as civilized. They understand the consequences of publicity of gender discrimination practices in their companies may damage public image of their company and will never be appreciated.
But I agree with Partho’s comments as we people in western countries are more cautious of such medieval age practices as government laws are very hard and tough on such acts.
There needs to be more civilized approach with discrimination free society in public life and companies like these needs to be careful to become fodder for such uncivilized and illiterate norms. This is issue of civil rights and human rights in western countries where companies are cautious of these ethical codes.
Serious businessman and business professionals never bother about gender or religion or ethnicity discriminations in the work place because they focus on business and not such civil right issues.
I know in India there is medieval age feudal system exist which promotes discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, languages, ethnicity, even colour as whites as Upper Caste and browns or Black colour people as Backward Class.
I don’t surprise to add this gender in this as one more addition to the list of discrimination practices from medieval age.

Hi Freinds,
I totally agree with Badlu Sir and Brother Partho. HR has no gender base qualification or any disadvantages with male or female charactors to project as Female HR or Male HR.
This is distorted perception of unethical and uneducated people who just make HR as fun for their advantage want to hire female for what?
Only God knows what they people intend But it is quit clear from their discrimination that they hardly knows about HR functions. That means they who donot know the business are deciding what is good or bad?
There are some professions which are identified with female genders such as Nurse, Personal Secretary, Primary Teachers, but to club HR with this class of employment and not diffrientiating HR is an attempt to discreadit profession value of HR as low skilled clerical jobs to administer paper work.
Discrimination is uncivilised and cultural reflection of company and promoters psychology. What kind of organization is all these people belongs is just matter of curiosity for HR professionals what they think of HR as profession.
For such breeds uncivilised people HR or any other profession discrimination on basis of gender is just hunting for "ITEM GIRL". Not for serious HR professional.
Now the time has come to convince ourself that we shall not be the victim or wrong market practices being inculcated in the minds of people that there are two kinds of HR practices one is Female HR and second is Male HR. World will laugh at Indian Corporates understanding of this HR bccome mockry.

Lets just - STOP commenting where it makes no sense.
The person has a genuine post. They require a Female - HEAD HR.
- I once questioned a GM - HR of a company (FMCG manufacturing division) for posting an AD - "Require - Asst Mgr - HR (Only male candidates need to apply).
I have great scores and was much better than the guys in my class who just came to the college to earn a degree and get married with invitation card printed as MBA...
The GM was silent and smiled when I questioned him... He took me to their unit.. Their shop floor level ppl and after the visit - I calmed down and apologized for my behavior.
Everyone working there were male employees. (esp floor level) – Now that was not my concern.
Not a single person had a decent look on their face... and everyone gave me a wierd look, as if they have never seen women in their whole life.
I just imagined - If I were to work as an HR in that unit - not a single person would listen to me, or even pay the respect what a GIRL shuld deserve. They would say – after all she is a girl what can she do (that was the attitude written on their face) And only a male would be able to handle their issues which they can discuss openly without any fear..
.....
Same way, This particular position, posted by Suresh.may be demanding a person with Feminine qualities. :-)
And Mr. Partho - So silly of u to decide that "Indian CEO wants an item girl"
Its not v... but its ppl like u who spoil the image of our country. Maybe u have only seen such ppl around u.
Badlu Sir, I have worked for US fortune 100 clients who have specifically mentioned "Hi Ash, if u can find me a male candidate - its much more of a desirable profile, but that does not stop u from submitting female candidate profiles"
When I enquired - its not abt discrimination agn - its just that they feel that a malel candidate may be just the right fit.
And coming back to this position agn....
May be the company as its policy is also providing opportunities for female candidates in this male dominated nation (if ppl like who Partho mentioned are there - like CEO hiring an item girl - which girl would want to go for a job???)
So may be this is just the right opportunity for a Woman to prove her ability.
So – getting back to the business… u are not going to change the decision of the Company in whether they shuld hire a Male or a Female candidate. They know their business well and have understood the requirements much better. As an outsider – lets not perceive things as “Gender Discrimination”.
Cant believe that Men have started to fear, and have finally opted to talk abt Gender Discrimination.
Is this posting going to have a say on ur earning – No right?
Then just let another woman pursue her career.
Again:
There are so many things that western culture practises... that we have tried and adopted. But a few have remained the same way. Its becos of our Culture. Its ridiculous to say that everything must be adopted the western way. What is applicable there may not be applicable here in our Country.
Dont tell me - if "Someone" starts thinking that a Women is hired in the place of an item girl, would he let his wife work anywhere?? I know people who dont let their wives even contribute their ideas, and underestimate them by saying "She knows nothing". (infact he would be the fool!) First change must come from within... and then u can expect others to change. UR words depict the person in u. A person who says things like this . . is probably a person who does things like these.
Or just to make all the Men over there who are worried abt teh Post "Only Femal candidates need to apply", Suresh - pls change ur post requirements to - Company prefers people with "Feminine qualities" Trust me - u will get the right response. This will not come under Gender Discrimination.

I think Asha is right.. the current company where i work in , the same conditions prevail. My company is more in projects and manufacturing both. I took this profile as an chllenge but trust me after 2 months of work i feel their is lot of gap between workers/supervisors /engineers and execs.. I will not underestimate any lady professional as I knw many have achieved heights out of their sheer hardwork and way of living.
I believe the advt posted is genuine and we have no right to comment on it this way.. Also its sad that none of the lady HR's have commented on this advt ..
This can be interesting debate but I lets not take it too another level..

Hi Ash Baby,
If Indians continue with such discrimination practices in HR field then they will practice folowing HR Functions:
1. Male HR Functions
2. Femele HR finctions
3. Gay HR Functions
4. Emasculate HR Functions
Do you think this is inline with global HR practices. What credibility Indian will have then in global market.
Is it third kind of HR practices I mean in otherwords WE can called this as "THIRD WORLD HR PRACTICES.
But at least Africans are better placed in civilised norms as far as gender discrimination is concern we don't see such discrimination in professnal fields in Africa Because we worked in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Ghana. No such discrimination exist in Africa.
I think India is still snake charmers civilization and culture...You are still living in colonial rules and practicing Mideveal age Indian discriminatory concepts.
Its rediculeus.....
This country needs century to civilise, social discrimination brings weakness in society emerge from social philosophy of life in different part of world. There is problem with maturity of people's mindset in these Third World COuntries.

It is true that for certain positions male candidates are required (e.g manufacturing companies, factories ) but this is the first time I have come across such a post where they need a 'Female HR head'. Though I wouldnt call this gender discrimination, I do agree with Mr. Badlu that serious professionals do not worry about the gender -at least not at the HEAD -HR level.
I agree with Ash that probably the company thinks a female would be better suited for that particular position.
One reason could be that the company being in Healthcare could be having a large number of female employees. Having a Female HR Head would actually be a convenient idea when it comes to dealing with cases relating to harassment.
Instead of continuing with this discussion, it is time Mr. Suresh Katta explained to us the reason for his client's preference.
