Hello,

You worked for a couple of companies as a Recruiter. Are you still in the job?

You are doing an MBA from ICFAI-distance? What do you do in the rest of your time?

Have you thought of your own life? I mean the VISION?

With requisite intelligence, one can achieve a lot of certifications, and none of them may be related to what one may really like to do in life!

At this stage, is the job your NEED? Is there any specific reason to do ICFAI-distance?

If you wish to be in the management world as a career choice, then your MBA should be from such an institute as is respected in the industry! IIMs, Symbiosis, etc.

To even think about what you should be doing in your life is OUR job UNLESS we know you sufficiently. Also, do not let others tell you what you should be doing. Discussions with friends, teachers, seniors, and deep introspection generally point to something suitable for you.

You are right. What I am saying here is for all like you sailing in the same boat. To build a home, you have to first decide that you wish to build a home. You cannot simply say, "Well, I have the resources, let me expend," and finally wonder why the home did not get built!

So first decide what all you wish to achieve in life. Then let us worry about whether you have the wherewithal to do all those things.

It is a GOOD idea to go to a professional psychologist and take a "personality test" and "an aptitude test." This will help you look at the future a lot more clearly. These are scientific tests and are backed by years of research by Industrial psychologists all over the world. I am sure Hyderabad will have a lot of such qualified people who are trained and qualified to conduct psychological tests. Your University Department of Psychology can also guide you to such professionals!

Kindly revert with your findings for a more meaningful discussion.

Samvedan

Hi,

Thank you for your immediate feedback. Here are my answers to your questions:

Right now, I am not working in a recruitment job. The reason is that my home is in Ongole, a small town in Andhra Pradesh. I got married this February, and since my parents are old, I came to Ongole to take care of them.

During my two years of studying for my ICFAI MBA, I have two plans in mind:

1) Working as an external travel agent for Make My Trip. This involves selling tour products and earning commissions and incentives on those sales. The reason for considering this option is that in Ongole, being a small town, there are limited job opportunities, especially in my field of expertise. Pursuing an MBA is challenging, so I thought that by gradually selling tour products over two months, I could earn some additional income. The success of this plan depends on my studies, schedule, and my complete control over it.

2) Concentrating on my MBA studies and completing the program while staying at home.

I have completed various management tests on Brainbench and am certified in HR Concepts (UK), Internet Research (US), and personality tests, among others.

Please advise me on whether working for Make My Trip is the right choice for me. This opportunity involves setting my own targets to ensure I can sustain myself in Ongole for the next two years. After completing my MBA, I believe that the experience gained from working at Make My Trip will provide valuable insights on how to interact with people in different scenarios.

Do you think my approach is correct?

Thank you,

Sai Pothuri

As you are already pursuing an MBA from a reputable institute, you do not need to undertake any other courses. The MBA you are currently pursuing is sufficient for excelling in HR. Given your previous experience in recruitment, it's great that you are pursuing an MBA as it will enhance your overall HR personality. You need not worry further about the future as it is in your hands after completing your MBA.
