I am facing a serious problem in recruitment. We have urgent requirement of Php Developer in our Organisation. After very hard work, we find some suitable candidates and we gave them offer letter also, as per their choice(joining date) & salary as per market standards. But they don't turn up on their date of joining by making excuses like family Problem, accident, not well, got better opportunity.
Please guide me, what recruitment strategy should i follow.

Choose candidates who can join; instead of those whom you consider the best. If you are looking for diamonds, then willing to pay for diamonds. What do you expect? Why would not the candidates choose the best offer? During bad times, any company fires employees without a second thought, right? So why should not the employees look for what is better for them?
In case you really want your selected candidates to join, then either offer them what they want; else do not be so ambitious in choosing candidates. Lower down your specs and choose candidates accordingly.
Kust as you are running for the best candidates, these candidates are also looking for the best offers. Competition is a two-way street, do not forget this. While trying to be competitive yourself, you can not blame others for not being competitive. You choose BEST candidates, they choose BEST companies. Hope it makes sense to you.

Hi Raj,
We had offered the salary, which was expected by the candidate & also, kept date of joining in accordance with the Notice period of candidate. Everything was in accordance with the candidate. We waited for 30 days of his notice period, in fact till 29th day the candidate has confirmed his joining with us but on the date of joining neither he turn up to join nor answered our call.
We agree candidates have right to choose whats best for them but at least they should have informed us in case of not joining, so that we can hire someone else.
Thanks
