Dear Prajktaa,
First and foremost you have chosen a very beautiful logo that supports your name!
Instead of making flat rate for everybody, make the staggered rates. Lower the designation higher the subsidy.
I suggest keeping existing rate Rs 3.00 for office boys, housekeeping boys, security guards etc. Raise the rates for supervisors then executives then Asst Managers and so on. You may keep rate of Rs 30.00 for managers and above. Make sure that these coupons are non-transferable. Else you may find that managers will start producing coupons worth of Rs 3.00!
Communicate this message well before you implement this change. One way is to put a circular on the notice board. But before you do that it is better to call meeting of all HODs, explain some economics behind this scheme of subsidised meals and how company wishes to withdraw subsidy now. HODs must pass on this information to their subordinates.
Get a sample survey on who are ready to accept these new rates. Else they may make their own food arrangement. If few employees want to bring their own meals, company should accept that. In that case you don't have to issue meal coupons to them.
Ok...

Dear Prajakta,
I feel that management should share atleast 75% of the share at this stage and any future hike in rates will take effect step by step...Hikes in rates should be marginal & affordable to the employees always....I slightly agree with Mr. Divekar because the food will be the same for all staff then why there is a difference of rates for worker, supervisor, executives, managers etc.,, Everybody will eat the same food of same quality...
Secondly, as rightly suggested by Mr.Divekar, you issue a circular and call feedback first from everyone so that you can get an idea from everbody and thereon only you can reach to your destination.
All the best..

Dear Manoj,
My reply to your contention "I slightly agree with Mr. Divekar because the food will be the same for all staff then why there is a difference of rates for worker, supervisor, executives, managers etc.,, Everybody will eat the same food of same quality" is as below:
It is customary to extend benefits with respect to the designation. Higher the designation, benefits are also of higher order. But dear Manoj here lies the catch. While availing of the benefits with respect to the designation, they do not spend anything. But while consuming food, though it is equal for all, the coupons are purchased. While distributing coupons we need to take into account the purchasing power of employees also. Since there is variation, we cannot place them on equal footing.
Equal may not be Equitable: - The classic example is Government of India. All along petroleum products have been subsidised. Subsidies were aimed at poor who can buy kerosene at affordable price and secondly petrol/diesel was subsidised in order to keep fares of public transport on the margin. Another view was to keep inflation under check.
Nothing wrong in subsidising but as the subsidies were universal with uniform pricing who partook the benefits of subsidy most? The owners of four-wheelers! Why do you require subsidised petrol to serve needs of the rich? Though government of India did not do this intentionally the flawed policy of uniform subsidy went in the favour of the rich. If India had adopted dual or multiple-layered pricing, our oil companies would not have been in the read the way they are in now.
Lastly, your have written that "so that you can get an idea from everbody and thereon only you can reach to your destiny...".
Dear Manoj, it cannot be Prajaktaa's destiny but destination. May I request you to amend that word?
Thanks,

Dear Mr. Divekar,
First of all I apoligize for the mistake occurred and now it rectified by me and the word "Destiny" is omitted and it be read as " Destination". I am very much thankful for notifying my mistake. To be very honest, I need more excercise to develop communication style specially the English Communication. I am sure that it will be developed only when I come to the contacts of such professionals like you.. Thanks for your guidance & suggestion..
The examples quoted in your message are too good & you deserve for appreciation, but when we worked in any private sector it would be very difficult to implement such policies...You are right in pointing out that "Equal may not be Equitable" and the example is too good one...but still I feel that the policies adopted by Govt. Agency cannot be compared with Private Sector when the interest of the employess have to be protected..
If any mistake is occured in this message, kindly notify me. Thanks & Regards. Keep in touch with some more topics.
Thanks & Regards

well said dinesh.... . the other suggestion is abolish subsidy for the white collor people tell them to bring their own Lunch boxes, give only coffee/tea 3 times a day. given only lunch coupons(Rs.30/-) to only lower designation people other then the white collor people and also provide coffee/tea 3 times a day. this will save & reduce the cost to the organsation.
