As i have joined the new company here, i need to amend some updated policies & that is why want to know how many leave can be availed by the employees in the company? Although i have gone through the UP Shop & Commercial Establishment Act 1961, there is 15 leave calculated as PL/EL, 10 Leaves As Casual & 10 as Sick leave. Dear Abdi,
The scale and standards of service conditions prescribed in any establishment-related Labour Legislation are always general and minimal and intended as measures for the minimum compliance to avoid penal action. So, going above the standards set is the discretion of the individual employer taking into account various considerations such as the stress and strain involved in work, the no. of weekly working days, the higher standards set by progressive employers in the industry, relative cost factors of different kinds of leave, the demands whether hidden or outspoken from the employees in this regard and the like. However, to answer your last part of the post, sorry, I am not able to understand what exactly you mean by " hierarchy of leave management."

Dear Umakanthan For your prompt revert.
The last part of my post was regarding the leaves that how many leaves are mandatory to be availed by the employees of an IT firm? because the existing leave i.e PL/EL, SL & CL, allotted to the employees in my current company is not actually under UP Shop & Commercial Establishment Act 1961. I want a minimum number of leave policy that the should be entitled with.
Thanks & Regards

Establishments belonging to IT and ITES fall within the purview of State Shops and Estt Acts. Therefore, the no of various leaves prescribed under the UP S & CE Act,1961 is the statutory minimum to be granted to the employees.
