Hi,
I am currently working as a Training & Development manager for a big telecombrand in India for one of its circle. I feel that an MBA in HR will help me enhance my career prospect, since I continue to pursue a career in T&D, training being my forte and me having around 5 years of experience in this trade.
Please help me understand the kind of opportunities that will unfold with an international MBA degree in my current line of job. I want to debate and get an insight into things like.. do I at all need an MBA in HR and if yes, how is it going to further enhance my current line of job. I just don't want to go in for a course on gut feeling but I want sound facts.
Friends, please lend some insight..

Hi Rajesh,
As you are already in the T&D arena and continuing to pursue the career in the same, an MBA would add on to your qualifications.
But I presume you are looking in for a customized course focussing only in HR. Why don’t you do a PGDHRM or similar other courses say MHRM or MA(PM&IR)or Msc(Applied Psychology). MBA would be good if you want to widen your horizons of your activity. Say an expansion by incorporating various other services.

Hi Sree,
Nice to see your response, quite qualitative one. I have got letter of acceptance from good universities in Uk like Strathclyde, and Leeds Met for their 1 Year executive MBA program, and also one from Robert Gordon University for their MSc in Management program which has a clear focus on any elective one might chose viz. HR or Mrktng.
I needed some insight on the same, as a generalized view gives me to understand that one stands a better chance and broader options post an MBA, whereas MSc is good if one has decided on the focus area.
Please share your thoughts on the above. Have a great weekend ahead !
