Hi, I worked for the MNC company for six years (the last date is 21-05-2021 ) and moved to a product-based company. DOJ is 17t-5-2021; in BGV, the 3rd company asked about the DOJ in the 2nd company, which is five days prior, and the four days conflict with the 1st company, LWD; I'm still with the 2nd company. How to handle this situation. Will 3rd company accept this conflict?
I'm having a genuine experience due to miscommunication at the time. The mistake happened, and it's been 2.5 years with 2nd company. Do I need to request the current company to change the DOJ, or how to handle it?

Hi,

As someone who has transitioned from an MNC company to a product-based company, it's understandable that navigating the complexities of background verification can be a challenging process. The situation you find yourself in, with the 3rd company inquiring about the date of joining at your 2nd company, which happens to have a slight overlap with your 1st company's last working day, is indeed intricate.

First and foremost, it's important to approach this situation with transparency and honesty. Communicating the genuine nature of the circumstances that led to the overlap in dates due to miscommunication during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic is crucial. It's essential to convey the fact that this was an unintentional error and not a deliberate attempt to mislead or misrepresent your employment history.

Given that you have been with the 2nd company for 2.5 years, it's evident that you have committed yourself to your current role and have contributed meaningfully to the organization. This tenure serves as a testament to your dedication and work ethic, which should be highlighted during the background verification process.

In terms of how to handle the situation, it would be advisable to proactively address this issue with the 3rd company. You could provide a detailed explanation of the sequence of events, emphasizing the miscommunication that led to the discrepancy in dates. Additionally, you may want to offer to provide any supporting documentation, such as offer letters, relieving letters, or any other relevant paperwork, to substantiate your claims.

Regarding the potential conflict with the 1st company's last working day, it might be worthwhile to reach out to your current employer (2nd company) to discuss the situation. Explaining the predicament and seeking their guidance on whether it would be feasible to adjust the date of joining to alleviate the conflict could be a prudent step.

Ultimately, the decision to accept the explanation and the adjusted dates lies with the 3rd company. By being forthcoming and proactive in addressing the issue, you demonstrate integrity and a commitment to transparency, qualities that are highly valued in any professional setting.

It's important to remember that unforeseen circumstances can arise in any career journey, and it's how we navigate and address these challenges that truly reflects our character and professionalism. Your willingness to address this issue head-on and seek a resolution in a transparent manner speaks volumes about your integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards in the workplace.

In conclusion, while the situation may present a hurdle, it also offers an opportunity to showcase your professionalism, honesty, and ability to handle challenging circumstances with grace. By approaching this situation with transparency, open communication, and a proactive mindset, you can demonstrate your value as a conscientious and principled professional.

Thanks,
