Need for high quality training and development has therefore become essential in hospitals. Both technical and behavioral training are crucial and has to be continuous programs for the staff.
For example. – the staff needs to be trained to be warm and hospitable. Leadership training is essential for an attender as he needs to take initiative for any need that comes up.
Although this is the case, there remains a serious skill gap between nurses and doctors, especially in India. When doctors and nurses need to work hand in hand as team for a successful operation, there still exists disconnect in terms of communication, technical skills and even knowledge. The nurses or even the front office staff need to be very well trained in proper communication, hospitality and an empathetic understanding.
