Hi to all moderators,

I have been working in a leading R&D since 2015. Overall, I have 6 years of IT experience. In October of this year, my company found me guilty of theft. I acknowledged my actions and cooperated fully to resolve the issue. I also provided information about others who were involved in the original idea, leading to the termination of their contracts as they were contractors. I have been in communication with an HR representative who indicated that if I cooperate, the company may offer me a smooth separation.

After a two-month waiting period, yesterday, they called me into the office and presented me with a termination letter, citing theft as the reason for terminating my contract with a fine of 5L. Despite my efforts to appeal, it yielded no results. I chose not to resign, assuming the company would provide me with a relieving letter. I have dedicated almost 2 years of service to the company since joining.

I am now prepared to take out a loan to pay the fine, but I am uncertain about receiving a relieving letter. I have no other source of income and support my family alone. I have taken a personal loan to cover the amount due. However, if the company refuses to issue a relieving letter, I will be left without a job. I have already passed several rounds of interviews with other companies and am awaiting an offer. I seek guidance on this matter.

Thanks

Hi xxxx,

Good morning!

I sincerely respect the Leadership Team's decision taken against me. I am completely shattered at the end result after such a lengthy time. I know I have made previous mistakes, and I completely own up to them and admit them whenever I need to. But how severe am I or my family to be punished for it? It's been more than 1.5 months, and I am sure I have changed for the better. How am I supposed to prove I have integrity if I am not given a chance? Is there anything I can do?

I request the Company to consider my work efforts, recognition, and sincerity for my work for an instance while sentencing me to termination. I have my aged parents and a responsibility of 3 people here in Bangalore. The Company's termination will definitely leave me in a potentially jobless condition. I have already gone through a lot of mental stress during the last one and a half months. As per the company's instructions, I have to pay an amount of INR 5 Lacs/- as compensation for the missing valuables. After doing all possible financial calculations, I am sure I will not be able to pay the same without a job. I don't even have sufficient funds for paying next month's rent. As I mentioned today, I have cleared interview rounds in a couple of companies. In this case, without a work relieving letter from the Company, I will not be able to join any of them, which will leave me incomeless. I have already taken a personal loan for which I have to pay the EMIs every month. So considering all facts, I beg the Company to issue me a 'Relieving Letter' for my career and payment of the above-mentioned fine amount. I am willing to pay the stated amount only to end this issue and get a relieving letter.

I promise that I will make the payment of INR 5 Lacs/- before the due date. I beg my company to please reconsider my apology and all cooperation during and after the investigation. I am requesting a second chance for my career and family. Please reply back to me with the mode of payment and point of contact for further separation process with a relieving.

On a final note, I have always believed that mistakes, when accepted and forgiven, yield a positive result. If my office does not provide me with a relieving letter, which will leave me in a jobless condition and make me unable to pay the sought amount. Please try to understand my situation. If in the future, I take any wrong step to make the due amount payment to Company XXX, Bangalore, then they will be responsible for the same. I really want to end this dispute and start fresh and positive life ahead. I will not repeat any kind of past activities in the future.

Thank you for your valuable time. Please do the needful.

Regards,

xxx
