Hello, I am working in hospitality industry and seek advise on the number of paternity leaves which can be availed by a male associates who is working in a private sector/hospitality industry. Paternity leave so far does not come under legal and mandatory leave under any statue. Progressive organizations do offer paternity leaves to their male employees to extend emotional and physical support to spouse having given birth to a child and to enjoy baby moon period together. Such leaves vary from 5 to 15 days to be availed from 1 day of birth to 3 month time up to 2 children, sanctioning of the leaves is subject to production of medical certificate.
