In india,It really doesn't matter whether you do PGDBA or MBA, as long as you do it from some reputed institution or university.
But always write the correct qualification you have in your resume because technically PGDBA is a diploma and MBA is a degree.

For the preparation, please do thorough study.. Donot mug up things.
Understand the topics. Especially learn the years, name of the inventors or who gave which theory etc.
If your are clear with the basics of the subject, you will do well.
Moreover, attempt atleast one assignment every time you go for the exam for the same subject.
