final objective of any organization is profit.And our human resources for achievement this objective.We have to maintain & develop our HR in the way to get the profit.
So we can't compare the profit and manpower.
We are dealing with people to gain to objective of the organization.so we are chain between profit and HRM.
That is my personal thinking

first of all i would like to appreciate ur topic of discussion wat u hav posted..aftr long time i hav seen such an intresting topic....
so my suggestion would be that the ideology for good HR manager is that primarily people come first...there is a long chain that goes like
employee statifaction --> good work --> high profits...
hence profit for a company will automaticaly be incresed if employee of a company r satisfied....
we can take an example of a family that if family members r happy then there are no problems among family members and they remain happy....
so the employees in a company are like a family and it is the duty of HR manager to keep them happy...satisfied.....
so for HRM people come first...!!

even HR works as business partner in many organisations..so paradigm for HRM is changing very rapidly in current business environment..

And we need "talented" people to run this whole plan.
So whats the point in just caring for people- if the same people do not deliver? (that means - they dont do anything for making the profitability visible)
So - HRs job - Hire the right talent, train/ coach them towards performing better.
make sure that they deliver - remove the hindrances blocking their performance.
Motivate them (monetary / non monetary)
And take actions if one is not performing (coaching / evaluating/ terminating)
- HRM deals with managing profits by managing skilled talent pool.

i disagree...cuz in the current trend of HR if we c the concept of balance score card..it is mainly dealing with alligning HR dept goals with the comapany's mission n vision...n its simple...company is only there for profit...but definitely those profit can only be earned when employees are satisfied , motivated and in turn are efficient n effective in delivering the performance.
therefore HR is a bridge between the profit of company and a building a profitable manpower!!
