Hello, Greetings to all seniors!!
Today, I am bringing up a topic again that I need to act on. I need your guidance on how to handle this situation in the most efficient way. I am sure that I will receive valuable inputs from your side that can help me achieve this milestone.
I am associated with an IT firm as an HR executive. It has been 1 year now since our company became operational. Over the past two months, we have been facing issues with employees not being productive and efficient in their work. There have been late project deliveries, a lack of association with the firm (as they always prefer big firms), etc.
I need to have one-on-one interactions with each and every employee to understand the main issues affecting them or the company. Please guide me on how to make them more productive and happy, and how I should conduct these interaction activities. Is there something else that can be done in this regard?
My agenda is not limited to hiring; I aim to create a company of employees with a positive mindset because I believe that productivity can only be achieved by having a happy and satisfied workforce. Please guide me through this process.

Dear Priya,
To sum up your post in a sentence, it can be said that you would like to seek a solution from the members of this forum because of the decline in the productivity of your employees. You have assumed that the decline in productivity is because of a decline in employees' engagement.
Employee productivity depends on two factors. The first one is capability. Capability is a product of knowledge and skills. Therefore, first, check their capability. Have you recruited misfits, or are they fit but lack sufficient knowledge and skills? There is a limit to what they can deliver.
The second factor on which productivity depends is employee motivation. Employee engagement is a little away. Before engagement comes employee motivation. Have you measured their level of motivation? Employee motivation is too complex and depends on many factors.

Dear Priya,
As stated by you, there has been a drop in employee productivity during the last two months. Was it okay prior to that?
Your approach of one-to-one meetings and finding out the reasons for the drop will certainly yield results. You may discover that they are unhappy for a variety of reasons, prominently among them could be inadequate compensation, unchallenging work, no career growth, too much regimentation, inflexible and rigid approach, and quality of supervision. Based on your feedback, you may pinpoint the reasons for the drop and take corrective actions.
