Dear Shirley,

The dictionary meaning of the word "agenda" is "a temporally organized plan for matters to be attended to" or "A list of matters to be taken up (as at a meeting)". The third meaning is "Individual objectives or perspective".

It appears that you have confused the third meaning given above with the concept of KRA. Now let us come to the definition of KRA. Following are the definitions of KRA:

KRA is the area identified as important or crucial where a result will assist in the achievement of the set objectives or goal OR

KRA defines what a job is expected to accomplish.

KRAs are derived from the company's visions/mission, annual goal, expansion plans and so on. Therefore, KRAs are generally set by the superiors. In view of this, your Agenda cannot override KRAs. That would be risky. Theoretically, you may have your agenda on and above the department's KRAs. But then meeting both would exert you and very few will be able to fulfil double expectations, one for the senior and another for personal.

Dear Friend,
Agenda and KRA(Key Result Areas) are different, agenda give the picture at any function or areas to be followed, an order, temporarily taken up a plan.. where as KRA is the goal where you have to achieve say a project and its key results, the areas where the results expected and that must be achieved and the reasons for aberration may differ.. so there is a lot of difference between agenda and KRA, so saying agenda as academic excellence is completely difference, agenda is temporary..
best of luck ...

KRA=Key result area.

Board of Directors decides upon the objectives of the company and set a period specific target.

This Target becomes the KRA of the Chief Executive Officer.

Then it get divided/subdividedTake an example of a Product till it reaches the bottom most rung.

KRA of each person is linked and fulfilment of KRA will lead to fulfilment of objective set by BOD. Hence, if one person fail it will hamper the attainment of the desired result.

Take the example of a product manager and likely KRA:

It could be :Customer Satisfaction,Operational Cost Control,Quality Control,Keeping of proper documentation etc.It can be different from company to company depending on what Board of Directors decide.

KRA of CEO could to increase production by 50% and profit by 25% in 2 years time.

Agenda:

An agenda is a list of meeting activities in a specific order in which they will be taken up. It usually includes one or more specific items of business to be discussed. An agenda can also be called a docket or schedule.

For the example you have quoted;

Achievement of a specific educational qualification can be the KRA.

While agenda could be series of plans,activities like studying for 3 hours,going for tuitions to achieve KRA in series of steps.
