I didn't serve notice period and left the company due to personal issue. So I recently approached them for the service letter so they asked me to pay the recovery amount to give service letter. I'm ready to pay but they said service letter exit status will be abandonment and they are not providing relieving letter. So Is it good to take that service letter ? Are companies like TCS accept abandonment status service letter?

Abandonment status in any service certificate is a negative point and any employer will be wary of. So think twice before purchasing it.

Hello Anonymous,
Your's seems a classic case of "act in haste & repent @ leisure".
There can be absolutely no justification for leaving a Company the way you seem to have done.....personal or official or anything else. Walking in & out of jobs as one pleases is not like one can do in a movie theatre.
I have seen many Companies where such guys are not even shortlisted even for the Interview process despite excellent calibre.
Rather than asking anyone in this forum or anywhere else "Is it good to take that service letter", suggest put YOURSELF in the HR person's position & how would your reaction be when a new joinee submits such a letter? Would YOU accept it? As HR, wouldn't your first thought be: if this guy has left a company this way earlier, he may as well do the same to this company?
