Hi,
Recently, I joined an MNC company. Before that, I worked at companies X (latest) and Y (before the latest). X is still operational, but Y has exited (is not running). I submitted payslips, offer letter, and service letter from Y. Now, during the background verification process, they are asking for authority details for company Y. Can I check the CIN for company Y? If I do, will it show another company Z with Y's exit details? Is there a solution to resolve this issue?
Thanks

You can reply to BGV agency giving the factual position on the status of company Y and attach a copy of your documents mentioned above to prove credentials.

The CIN (assuming it is the company identification number issued by MCA) cannot be used by a different company than the one it was registered in. That means only that the company has changed its name, not closed down.
I suggest you reach out to the company to confirm and obtain the contact number of the concerned HR manager for the BVG team to check.
