Hello,

Currently, I'm working in a company from April 2011 onwards. I left my last company in March 2011, and just a year back (from 2016), the company closed due to some reasons. I have all the documents (appointment letter, relieving letter, Form 16, bank statements, pay slips).

Now, if I go for any other company, especially like Accenture, CTS, TCS, will there be a problem in the background verification process? If I get an offer from TCS, should I inform them about this fact? Because the company closed, it's not our fault. Please suggest how to proceed further on this.

I agree with Mr. Raghunathan. There is a simple saying, "who asks the dead person." Similarly, a background check for a closed company is not possible; hence, it will not be done. Since you are aware of the closure of your ex-employer, it has to be mentioned wherever it is applicable. Moreover, you have evidence of serving that company and proof of salary, which I am sure will suffice.

Sir, I have worked in a small training institute, which is a Government of India skill development subsidiary, and it genuinely exists in Kolkata. I have an experience certificate only from that organization and don't have salary slips, but I am trying to get some other documents as well. I was paid in cash there.

My second company was a private sector company opened in January 2016. I joined in January 2016 and resigned in January 2017. Now, this company is closed from March due to some problems created by the management team, as they were taking money from applicants in the name of bond money without the owner's permission. I don't know if it will open again.

I have converted a good business school and will be taking admission there. My question is, what happens to me after 2 years during verification?

In my second company, I have an offer letter, joining details all via official mails from the company's concerned mail ID at different times during my tenure. I have an experience certificate, relieving letter, salary slips of 3 months although I was paid in cash here as well. I also have the acceptance of resignation from the company's recognized email ID. The company is still active and has MCA registration, but it's not open. The place exists, and I have contacts with the trainer of the company. I also have collected evidence like Facebook posts, LinkedIn profiles of other employees, as well as the company's picnic pictures and all.

Sir, my question is, after I resign, how am I accountable for any issues or malpractices of the company? How am I supposed to convince the company's HR if I happen to get placed in an MNC after 2 years, say in 2019? Please help me, sir. I really need insights as I am worried about what happens after 2 years and after investing so much money for my MBA.

When we work in a company, we make many decisions and are also parties to many decisions. From your email, it is not clear what your roles and responsibilities were. You need not have any worries if you were not involved.
