hello everybody,
I have just joined in a organization as Assistant HRM. This organization consist of 84 staff operating 8 provinces/cities. Currently my HRM assigned me to conduct training need assessment.one mone things,my manager told me to conduct one to one interview. I don\'t know how to get information from interview. I told him that we should make a list of training course and let all the staff (84) select 3 top priorities. What should I do? I really need your recommendation.
With warmest Regards,

Dear Sok Chanvisal,

Neither one on one interview, nor preparation of training calendar will bring out the real training needs. Have you identified direct and indirect costs of each department? Any training that you conduct should be aimed to reduce these costs. Anything else done other than this is plain humbug.

I have been giving my replies on this subject for the last 4-5 years. You may refer following links which are my replies of the similar queries of the past:

(though this is related to technical training, the comments are useful to behavioural training as well)
