Our company had provided a netbook/laptop to our salesman, we have an asset grant form but just a basic details. Now happen one of the staff not take care the device well and cause a hardware damages. Anyone can help me as im looking for the agreement or policy to implement such as term & conditions to use company asset. This is to out an awareness to the user to be more responsible and know how to take care company asset.

Dear ,
There are three conditions under which assets get deteriorated. One is normal wear and tear, second is accidental damage and third is negligence of the custodian. I recommend you conducting enquiry and finding out whether the asset deterioration was due to negligence. If yes, then you may impose the penalty against the defaulting employee. While imposing penalty, make sure than you take into account the depreciation of the asset's economic value.
