Dear sarladeore,
You are partially correct, however there are many companies who take freshers. Again it is only because freshers start applying to big companies. There are lots of SME companies who take freshers with a bond and train them in their platform and place them as an employee of their organization.
Only advice for all freshers is that never let yourself down or not to loose hope. This automatically force you not to perform well in interviews..

Dear all,
we are just discussing a point out of the context. The question is how to get started as a fresher??
well ! to start with, a fresher in any of the Engineering or Management stream should use their project work as a tool to start with. Research on the companies which is working on the projects/assignments/products similar to your project.write as many things relating to the project.
Other streams like Commerce etc.. will require some degree of exposure in practical training. So Join a company as part time employee/short term employee to gain Knowledge. Here also you should be specific in your approach.
Sales and Marketing is one field which will attract freshers at entry level.Sales is the least appreciated job for any freshers. But It will make you to learn many things.
Please do not think that you will get a high paid jobs immediately. Have a career goal and start working on this. A job in the small company with ample opportunity to learn is better than a small job in a big company.
Please note that a doctor will put 5 years of study and number of years of practice to become successful. You have to put your hard work to get appreciated
If anybody want further help you can mail for me @tools_bangalore@rediffmail.com

I completely agree with Vasudev.
Look..!!! The world is full of opportunities. We just have to grab them. A fresher is FRESH in his education and ideas, however he/she is yet to develop a domain specific skill. Thats the reason they dont get a kick start in companies who expect results right from the day of hiring.
The critical points of starting as a fresher is as follows:

The critical points of starting as a fresher is as follows:
- Have confidence. Never loose it.
- Do not forget your learning from academics and the projects you have done during your college time.
- Do not expect a huge money if you are not from a premier institute.
- Remember that a good number of candidates at your stage are competeing.
- Keep approaching companies.
- Register your profile in all the blue-chip companies websites. You will make a space for you in their database.
- Always have a learning attitude in job interviews (as you are yet to develop your domain).
- Keep in mind that the company who is going to hire you, has an objective. If you proove that you are going to meet the same objective.....then you are on the board..
