All contracts ends on march 31st. we are IT employees on contract.Everyone got a
temporary extension of contracts till July.All I asked the HR through email was to get my
name and designation right on the extension contract form. After exchange of few emails
they corrected my designation, but there were extra characters in my name, which I asked
politely in my emails.But some how it hurt their ego and on march 6th (this month), I got
an another email with subject as non-renewal of contract, which stated that my contract wont be extended
and I will be relived from duties on 31st march.And on the same day evening they blocked my email.
I joined the company on 23rd march 2015 and its been
two years since then.According to the contract agreement form when I joined , It states that either party has to give two months notice i.e
me or the employer.
My question is can I Insist that I need 2 months notice or I am willing to serve a two months notice ?

What is the duration of Contract Period? is it for 1 year or 2 Years.As per your information the duration of Contract will expire on 31-03-2017.you will be relieved from Service on 31-03-2017.If your service was Terminated during the period of 2 Years Contract, you will be entitled for Notice period.Was there continuity in service or break in service. What is your Gross Salary?

I saw this message in the morning, and by evening at 7pm I was unable to access my email, and still unable not able to...wonder why would they do that. There was no break in the service since 2015 march. Earlier on feb 22 we all got an extension of contract till june 2017, because I had the audacity to ask them to correct the form on march 6th, things turned ugly. Not sure my Gross salary but my take home is Rs 18500 / month.

Its unfortunate that you are in trouble and you are away from job today but its not for longer duration (which you did not anticipate).From brief facts, I see that its not case of termination of services but simple case of "not extending services contract period anymore ". Actually its fact and co-incidence here that the contract between your company and you was to expire on 31st March 2017 and company HR simply informed about the same on 6th March 2017 about action of not renewal of contract is legally correct action.In this game which normally HR do not play, you are not entitled to notice pay also.Please invest your time on creative things joining with full strengths for a job sooner you should hunt for.

How can you say that you are not sure of your Gross Salary? are you not getting Pay Slips? Refer to contract for your Salary Structure, Are you covered under PF/ESI/Bonus Act?

Below is the email that every one received on feb 22 from the director, Does it mean that I am still on a contract till june 31st 2017, though the original one finishes at March 31st 2017. I am thinking because of the extension if I am still under a contract then I am entitled to serve a notice period from my side. Please Help

The appraisals for all the (company name deleted) staff will be completed by 15th March.
The extension of contracts upto June 2017 is not meant for postponement of appraisal date.
This may please be communicated to all your team members and assure them that the appraisals will be completed well before 31st March 2017.
