In the current business scenario, when IT is at its boom, I feel every 4th or 5th person would be working in the IT sector. I suggest you design a questionnaire - a very small questionnaire - for the people who are working in the IT company and gather information directly from them.

How does a person spend their time at work and in life? When I recruit individuals for my organization, I evaluate and rank them based on their personal and professional attributes. This is a method I recommend incorporating into your research findings.
When considering personal and professional attributes, you can refer to the Career section of www.medleyoffice.com. You can clearly define each attribute and assess their impact on maintaining social and professional life balance effectively. This serves as an illustrative example.
If you are employed in a CMMI Level 5 company following the PCMM standard HR processes, you can establish your own set of standards regarding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) concerning work-life balance. However, this may require experience and guidance if you are unable to do it independently.
I have developed standards but have misplaced the document describing the KPIs for personal processes in the context of CMMI Level 5.
