In the current business scenario, when IT is at its boom, I feel every 4th or 5th person would be working in the IT sector. I suggest you design a questionnaire - a very small questionnaire - for the people who are working in the IT company and gather information directly from them.

How does a person spend their time at work and in life? When I recruit individuals for my organization, I evaluate and rank them based on their personal and professional attributes.
