Hi,
I got relieved from an company(IT) on Jun 3rd 2005 and joined the new organization on Jun 6th 2005. But its few days back that I noticed that my old company has given me an experience letter which quotes that I was relieved only on Jun 7th 2005 .i.e. I have now a clash of 2 days in my date of relieving and date of joining in the new company.
On approaching my previous company, they are not agreeing to correct the mistake. According to them all my relieving formalities were done based on the date mentioned in my letter(7th June).
Please suggest what can be done in such a case...I feel helpless......Is there a way out??? What will be the impact of such a mistake in future....

Dear Setu,
Do you have any of the reliving document and handover form that mentions that date on which it was signed off?
It's difficult for the company to change a date once the letter have been issued , just because its updated on their HRMS/ HRIS .
However, their error will impact your career, hence collect whatever proof you have of being relieved and write to the highest authority in the firm. Write to your CHRO to issue an added letter mentioning the error. That should help.
If they don't, use the forms as proof to support the error they made.
Wish you all the best!

Thanks (Cite Contribution).
I tried getting my dates changed by asking HR personnel but I got the reply that it cant be done now.
Its wtitten in the relieving letter that I submitted my resignation on 29th Feb 2012. But date of relieving is 23rd March 2012.
Would that suffice as proof? I did not have any notice period.
Waiting for your reply.
