I am certain you will receive the best of guidance and support from our mentors and experts. KPI requires quantifying what you have already mentioned in the KPA. Here's an old post on drawing KPI . In addition to this, please consider my questions:
What are you aiming to establish with your internship program ?
Have you identified the roles and tasks you will offer ?
What the the basic requirements that you have identified towards the candidates you would hire ?
What would not be achieved , if the program isn't implemented?
Assuming that your design and vision about the program is clear, what are the bare minimum targets?
What are the scope for achieving beyond what have been defined?
Quantifying each component would be the next step. Looking forward to hear from you and work along with you, in this project.
Here are two blog posts, that I found insightful. About the author: Yashwant Mahadik is currently with Philips Electronics as their Senior Vice President – Head of HR for the Indian Sub-continent & Global Chief Learning Officer

Dear Betula,
This is in addition to what (Cite Contribution) has said.
Please provide us details of your internship programme. What is the recruitment standard to become intern? What is the duration? Who are the interns? What is their education qualification? On completion of this programme, what kind of work they will be assigned? Do they do internship in same department or in different departments? If in various departments then for what duration in each department? What stipend do you pay during this programme?
Conducting written test at the end of the internship programme is one of the best means to assess the success of internship programme.
Ok...
