Hi Dan,

You should broaden your horizons by venturing into:

- Training and Development
- Performance Management System
- Culture Building
- Employee Counselling/Employee Relations
- Grievance Handling
- Employee Motivation

There is so much that you can do in HR. Be innovative, come up with some new ideas, and see if you can implement the same in your organization. Try to find out what else you can implement in your company for the benefit of your employees as well as your organization. There is no dearth of work in HR.

Best Wishes,
Tania

Hello Dan,

I have read the replies of all the respondents and find it strange that none was able to give you the exact outline of the roles of an HR Generalist.

The role of an HR Generalist starts from the day of induction and ends on the day of the Exit Interview. Hence, Employee Database Handling, Performance Appraisal, Payroll, Files Management, and Employee Relations are also part of the HR Generalist's role. However, if the company is big, this role is handled by a specialized team of "Employee Relations." "Compensation and Benefits," "Training and Development," and Industrial Relations are not the responsibilities, as there are separate teams for this.

You can read more about the various roles of HR professionals at [link outdated-removed].

Looking forward to your positive response.
