In interview, you people might have faced this question and given many different answer.
But i want the best answer for why you want to change the job? I don't want to say any bad words about my Current organization or about my Top Management. So without hurting anything and which satisfy the another employer at the time of Interview "What would be the Answer?"

There can NEVER be a BEST answer for such things...only a BETTER answer.
When you change the present job to a new one, there is always a possibility that you will change again after sometime [maybe a few years down the line]. Then again, there will be a BETTER answer for the hunt-better vis-a-vis what you NOW think is better.
And I think Asha's suggestion should be good enough for the present situation.

"A ROLLING STONE GATHER NO MASS " , I believe this. But in my career between 20-40 yrs people freequenly changing the jobs.
Reasons may be saying;
1. Better prospects (A newly joined persons and just acquiring knowledge people says like that)
2. Career Development ( After acquiring some experience if they got opportunity in a meadium or big orgnisations pepole says like that)
3. Some family constraints ( If the family is some where and the employment some where people says like that)
But all together like the above are for a change.

As wrightly said by our above members there's no specific or exact answer that can be given cos it depends based on the situations a candidate appears for a post. And always an explanation has to be given. On the contrary if its for pure need of oneself's elevation then can it be "Job Rotation", "Personal growth

Harish, Thanks for the questions. Each individual will have various answres and each of them would have a different reason for actually considering a change. It need not always be that there are no career opportunies with existing company, but may be a better offer exists outside. Whats wrong in trying?
for some - it may be a Bad Management the reason why they want to quit, for other relocation, for others- may be the pay, or even Glass ceiling in certain cases.
I can highlight a few areas the interviewees need to be prepare for such questions:
1. Why dont you think of your career development and challenging avenues in the same corporate?
(does this mean replacing my senior?? :-)
Jokes apart - I would suggest :
a) Opportunity for exposure in a different industry
b) Opportunity to use available skill set for a better position. Eg: A recruiter will definitely know in detail about a particular role,. and who will fit the role and the bill. Also, in future, this knowledge will turn as required skill set for identification of training needs and seeting of performance mgmnt systes (KRA and KRIS derived from JDS)
c) Job/skills requirement differ between industries and even among companies. certain positions may demand a detailed approach, whereas certain dont. Now its the interest of the candidate to consider what they want to specialize in future.
d) Please be aware of what interests you the most about the position

- Limited responsibilities
- Limited opportunities (due to infrastructure / industry/ type of culture)
- If one has specialized in a field and become good at it, its better to move forward with career and thoughts for professional and personal improvement. stagnation is bad. May be the new offer has much scope for offering what os required for growth and exposure.
I have just give you suggestions that one may/might want to consider before chosing or "structuring" your answer.
Above all, be frank. Be true with the actual reason, because if you are not - you never know when you will be caught. Trust me - HR Recruiters who are also involved in background verification, can gather all truth about you and ur past work profile. U think they cant? Then they fooled you - its the HRs job, and they are perfect in what they do. Never underestomate an HRs strength by what you see on their face - they (we) can look ignorant about certain issues, but we know the fact and want to see your integrity. All these counts in lay off while deciding whom to keep with the company and whom to let go.

Why do I want to change? ummm... The answers to this question will depend upon different ranges of experience. A person with 15 yrs of experience cannot give a reason what is best suited to a person with 2 yrs of exp.
However, there are some common 'supportive' answers for all ranges, such as, "Company is shifting", "I'm being asked to take up the charge at [a distant place]", "I think I'm underpaid"... etc.

I have read all the opinions of my seniors.
Some interesting and different points of view; we should understand the situation and answers.
1. If anyone is changing jobs, there should be a reason. It may be practical or due to some situation.
2. If the plant is shifting/closed, then we should communicate it; there is no need for hesitation.
3. Professional growth/personal growth should be a good answer with some practical clarification.
4. Sometimes, office politics take over, and there is no chance to search for another option. At that time, simply answer, "The existing organization has a very good and beautiful culture, but I feel that it does not offer future scope for my profile, so it is necessary to search for another option."
5. At the end of the interview, include this sentence to minimize errors in the answer: "I would like to work with you. If I receive this opportunity, I am ready to seize it with both hands."
After posting it so many times, if you have any queries, please clarify and share your views, whether you agree or not.
