Working hours at my organization are 9 hours, including 30 minutes for lunch, and 6 days a week. This totals to 51 hours of working time and 3 hours of lunch break. I wish to file a complaint about this as it has not been addressed despite my repeated requests. I would like to file this complaint anonymously, as revealing my name could have adverse effects on my career. Kindly guide me.

I am surprised that you want to complain for 3 hrs extra work. Anonymous complaints will have no value and will not get acted upon. Such an attitude will be a hindrance to your career.

I would suggest that you talk to the HR Manager in person. Furthermore, I would like to inform you that as per the UP Factory Rules, there is a provision stating that employees appointed to special or confidential positions are not required to maintain an 8-hour mandatory work period. However, they also cannot claim extra working hours. Some states have rules that are silent on these clauses, such as HP.

I hope the above information is sufficient.

Dear colleague,

The lunch break of half an hour under the FA and Shops Act is excluding 8 hours of actual work. Therefore, it cannot be treated as OT. Any hours worked beyond this half-hour break are considered overtime hours.

Please try to raise this issue with the appropriate authority and work towards resolving it in a persuasive manner.
