Dear Ankita Shah,

I would like to clarify certain points with you.

1) Religion plays a vital role in shaping a human because the one who practices the genuine principles of religion will never commit any mistake or sin because somewhere in the corner of his heart, the fear of God will be there.

2) Where there is good (God), definitely we will find bad (evil) there. I often used to fight with my guru, "why Allah (swt) spared the devil? If he was not there, we wouldn't have heard about the word 'negative' in our life.

3) Even Muslims have committed mistakes/sins (crimes) and for sure we deserve severe punishment for that. Either we are punished in this world or after our death. For example, in the Middle East, punishment is very severe and most of the times the criminals are beheaded. Those who steal things have their hands cut. This is a lesson and warning for every Muslim making it very clear not to repeat such mistakes/sins/crimes. Now you tell me, what is the scenario in India. Everyone is agitating to see these criminals punished without further delay, but what about those political leaders as media conveyed that one-third of Gujarat political leaders in power are holding criminal cases. Indian law cannot stop nor prevent such incidents because the Indian government itself is a team of corrupted criminals.

4) I agree that there are arrogant/adamant/illiterate Muslim males who do not respect females, but they can't dare to do such a crime because they know about the punishment from Allah (SWT). All those who are not practicing Islam will definitely go wrong. If you happen to meet a "Tableeq Jamaathi" anywhere in this world, kindly ask him/her what you had learned while being a part of Tableeq Jamaath. This is the only group which has changed the lives of thousands of Muslims as it is striving hard to strengthen our Emaan (belief & faith in Allah SWT). Many Muslims were involved in criminal/illegal activities, and they start living a decent life as prescribed by Allah and demonstrated by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) because they developed the fear of Allah (SWT) in their hearts. Tableeq Jamaath is teaching Muslims to live a real Islamic life.

5) Regarding Nazar, let me explain to you whatever Allah had explained through his Messenger Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) to his true believers. Islam is based on strict principles, and all those who follow it strictly will live a decent and happy life in this world and after death. A female is created for a male. She has a specific role to play, and we all know about that. There is a certain age where a brother is allowed to have face-to-face discussions with his sister. Once she has reached puberty, she becomes haram (illegal/not permitted) for her own brother. The reason why a Muslim male is not allowed to look at a female is that Shaitaan (devil) will make him think bad about that female, and that may/will lead to staring at her. This activity is disliked by Allah; hence, we Muslims are warned not to look at any females except our mother. Thought process beyond Nazar makes a huge difference in what attracted that Nazar and who got attracted?

6) Madam ji, I am living in the 21st century. Unless and until you understand Islam, it is very difficult for you to understand and interpret the activities happening around us. Just think, why Islam had permitted a male to marry four females? Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) had 13 wives, wherein he married a widow as well. A true believer of Allah (SWT) will never behave like a hungry wolf. My wife and I got separated. I am planning to marry either a widow or a poor girl as I do have my own expectations, but whatever is written in my fate, it will happen. Islam is a unique and flexible religion. Islam has given equal rights to females, but at the same time, it has defined boundaries for them. If she crosses that, she will be in trouble. Many Muslim couples have gotten and are getting divorced; do you know the reason?

7) Illiteracy ratio is very poor in Northern India, and when compared to the south, things are quite different over there. The south is a conservative zone, and this has helped them to live an introvert life.

8) I blame society, and I do blame parents for not educating their children, especially females. Fashion, by the way, what do we mean by fashion? Why are females dressed in a way that they are not supposed to? What is the necessity for showing their structure? Females are expecting males to lower their gaze; does that mean, you (females) can do whatever you want, and males need to shut their mouths without protesting for you people going wrong. I wrote in my earlier post that there is a specific attire for Muslim females called a veil. If every female is dressed in a veil, no guy will dare to harm her.

9) There are certain things (whatever is written in our fate) that are bound to happen because everything is pre-written.

There are many things I want to share about religion and human psychology of behavior & attitude, but since it's a public forum, I have to follow the rules. Time will teach us more, and coming generations will understand the real facts about Islam. Even if we impart sex education, do you think that such incidents will not happen?

With profound regards

[QUOTE=Ankita1001;2007746]With due respect to all religion,

I believe, sir, if you go to the roots of it, all religions teach you the same things -

Respect All,

Love All (by that, I mean the motherly, fatherly love and not the meaning portrayed these days)

Respect everyone's dignity and privacy...

No religion teaches what most people are practicing. So irrespective of who you follow, follow a religious path is all that I can say because it is one thing that can keep us grounded to virtues.

I agree with you. "To err is human," but raping someone, forcing yourself on someone is not a mistake, it's a crime. And it is not necessary everyone commits a mistake and learns. One can learn from others' mistakes. Who learns? Have we been taught to learn from others?

My parents always tell me - Every single being teaches us something. Some people teach us how we should behave, some others teach us how we should not. It is up to us who to follow and who not to.

Parents, religion, prophets, teachers can all be guiding people... The ultimate decision-taker is "we" rather than "me," a person in that situation.

"How many are trying to stop such brutal recurring incidents."

Reminds me of 2 Christian boys who were going with 1 girl who was being teased with some roadside Romeo... Till a point they bore, but when it started getting too much, these guys replied back. The 2 guys, to save this girl, lost their lives, people stood there seeing the tamasha.... they didn't help this girl reach safely, but when these 2 guys tried to help her out and faced a problem, not even did they dare to call up the police who can handle....

When we pledge, we say every Indian is our brother & sister, I believe those would have been live statues even if the girl would have been their own sister/daughter and those guys their own brother/son....

Nothing against Islamism... But the way you are portraying your point, it seems none of Islam males commit what is mentioned. The most irritating bunch in my office who would scan you worse than an x-ray machine are practicing Islam - they'd go for namaz, they'd strictly follow religion.... But they don't respect females...

The sad part is we can't follow religion blindly... We need to understand what it means.

Just as Islam asks a female to be in Burkha or Pardah... You believe that wearing Burkha makes a female safe? Sorry to state, I wish if you could have been a female, you might have understood that it's not females but the nazar (the way someone sees) that should have pardah... Why is a woman allowed to be without burkha in front of her father & brother? Because they won't have a bad nazar....

I would not comment. As I said before, no religion is harming anyone. No God would harm anyone... Only individuals harm. And whoever harms, we should see them as an individual, not as a practicer or promoter of XYZ religion. Irrespective of the religion followed or the position held, a crime is a crime is a crime. There can't be a discount.

Again for your question, sir, I asked who is at fault when a very conservative lady, who is fully covered is raped?

By saying so, you put up the whole fault on females. I don't say females can wear what they want to... I had confessed that many females are over-revealing... and then it would be their fault... But how about these overly conservative females....

I don't understand if you have got the right grip of the word democratic.

Sir, if it won't be democratic, females would still be suppressed. We have always been a patriarchal country. You, me, and all know what females have borne. Even after living in a democratic country, it is existing which is a shame. That doesn't mean you stop progressing.

Progress is what we move towards, side effects ought to be handled. We can't sit and say oh it failed... Sorry, but that was really not a healthy thing to do (my personal view and belief).

Females have started living an independent life which is beyond their limits or boundaries....

Which century do you live in, sir? We need independence because of the following reasons:

1. If the father dies, males would want to eat us up like we are flesh and

  • This is what I reiterate, my friend. Sex education is essential since the Western culture erodes Indian culture alarmingly, resulting in children adopting its evils. Whereas our religions, culture, and society do not permit them - children are in a fix.

  • According to me, we can't blame any gender for such crimes. I have read many articles, stories, etc., wherein men and women are both equally responsible for such acts. It's related to the human psyche and differs from case to case. We have seen and heard many such cases not only in India but in Western/European countries as well.

Right education, values, law and order, timely justice to victims, etc., can help minimize such incidents to an extent but can't eradicate it completely.

I am appalled to read your thoughts on rape. It is typical of Indian male to blame others for their bestiality. Can you please ponder over the following :
    a) How could a dumb. Deaf and physically challenged girl provoke any male?
    b) How do toddlers (less than Six years’ of age ) provoke the animal instincts in males?
    c) How do teen agers who go to fields in villages to relieve themselves entice men?
    d) How do young hapless girls entice policemen in police stations when all they would have gone there is to lodge a complaint of molestation?
    e) What makes men to beat and murder these girls after the action?
For god’s sake stop blaming the women. This chauvinistic attitude of Indian male is the root cause of this malice which no law can stop / control.

  • Thinking that the world will be without criminals is wishful thinking only. We have to be cautious for our own safety. We put locks on our doors to keep our home safe. We cannot say that I am leaving my home unlocked because no one should come and burgle my house. Criminals even break the strongest locks and steal things from our homes.

Whatever one must do on his or her own to be safe, one must do. One should never carry food in an open basket around a street where monkeys are a menace. Once the food is snatched and eaten by the monkeys, one cannot get it back.

  • Dear Friends,

Men or women, individuals or society, religion or non-religion, parents or society, etc. are neither responsible en bloc, nor at the same time free of blame for such crimes against humanity. All are contributing to the problem. Many may come and many may go; counseling shall keep on challenging human thinking. Unless we respect each other, love coexistence, understand the nuances, and above all, value the freedom of our brethren, no problem can be resolved. Internal as well as external purity needs to be advocated and practiced. If a male feels such acts are a display of manliness, who will address such feelings? If women feel their dressing code represents freedom, who will deter them from it? Unless one seriously considers dispelling such misconceptions on their own, letting others make their own decisions and face the consequences, there cannot be a way out. In summary - 'HUM BADALENGE, JAG BADALEGA'. If anyone is to be blamed at all, I should be the first for not:

    - resisting such thinking,
    - nurturing a better upcoming generation,
    - being a responsible Indian,
    - fulfilling my role as a parent, and more.

    Your sincerely,

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The statement that "Animals may Lust - BUT THEY DO NOT RAPE" is not entirely accurate. In certain animal species, forced copulation or sexual coercion does occur, which could be considered a form of non-consensual sexual activity. However, it's important to note that the complexities of human behavior and societal factors distinguish human rape from animal behavior.

  • Well, according to me, the crime called 'Rape' has been prevalent in olden times and will continue to happen. I am not supporting men here, but let's face the reality. Do you all know that 80% of rape cases in India are not reported at all? There are so many atrocities against women in small villages, towns, etc. We stay in cities and think we are aware of all issues happening around. How are those innocent women and children protected in villages?

I see a complete system failure in our judiciary to punish the guilty on time and stringently. Disposal of cases at the earliest and reviewing our laws related to rape, molestation, etc. is the need of the hour. I support whatever agitation is happening in Delhi... at least this may bring some change in our women's world going forward!

  • I have made corrections to the spelling mistakes in the last paragraph of my email, which are reflected here.

I have expressed myself sufficiently, and perhaps even if this assistance benefits one or more individuals, it will be a significant blessing. Let us strive towards a better society by initiating the transformation within ourselves. Let us consume nourishing and clean food in moderation; let us observe, listen, and speak positively; let us embrace spirituality and practice what we preach; let us exhibit traditional values and wisdom, excluding superstitions. Let boys/men shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding women to the best of their abilities; let women exercise caution and prudence. LET US NOT RELY ON POLITICIANS TO UPLIFT SOCIETY— they are not the ideal role models. They, too, require assistance!
