Greetings,
Is there any reason why you want to work before you complete your studies? I am asking this, as the motive will inspire you to work through.
The level of education that you have completed before your degree makes you eligible for a job. A stopgap arrangement works best when you have weighed your options. There are many jobs for graduates and undergraduates. Most of them belong to the BPO and media sector. Please explore your options depending on what you are comfortable with.
In Chennai, the typesetting industry is going pretty strong. Please look into that sector as well. KPO and IT Outsourcing are other sectors for you. Marketing jobs generally pay low fixed and higher variables. If you are confident of your marketing and sales skills, this can be a job that will add to your soft skills.
A key to selecting a second job or a vocation is to align it with what you want as your primary career.
I know a Ph.D. student who has been working in a typesetting firm for the last three years. A job as a copy editor may not add to his knowledge level. However, the company is in the research paper publishing industry. Hence, it offers him the best option to read research papers as a part of his job.
Jobs as a content developer are another area you may explore depending on your interest in writing.
Please share your areas of interest. Request you to research through the job boards to know more about the current opportunities.
