ESIC: Enhancement in limit from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000. ESI Inspector will be known as "Social Security Officer." Apprentices and trainees will also be covered. Age limit of dependants has been increased from 18 years to 25 years. A new section 51-E (Notional extension of premises) has been introduced, means an insured person while commuting from residence to premises and vice versa shall be deemed to be in the course of employment for the purpose of benefits under the act.
PF: Enhancement in claim under EDLI from ₹60,000 to ₹1,00,000. Also introduction of SMS facility for updating on withdrawal, challan(s) returns, etc.
Gratuity: Enhancement from ₹3.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.
Workmen Compensation Act has been renamed as "Employees Compensation Act," and enhancement for calculation of claim from ₹4,000 to ₹8,000.

REG: Recent Changes in Industrial Law
Apart from ESIC, GRATUITY, and the EMPLOYEES' COMPENSATION ACT, the PF's EMPLOYEES' DEPOSIT LINKED INSURANCE SCHEME (EDLI) has also been amended, thereby increasing the benefit to one lakh from 50,000/- in the case of an employee's death.
Additionally, the Industrial Disputes Act of 1947 is in the process of being amended, as The Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Bill 2010 has been passed by the Rajya Sabha on 3.8.10.
