Dear Chethan,

Is this query for yourself or someone else? Are you from HR? You have not given complete information like nature of the industry, number of employees in the company, whom this HR Officer reports to, how many sections are there in HR department, whether the company has labour union etc.

Nevertheless, you may visit the job portals like naukri.com or monsterindia.com Check the Job Descriptions for various openings promulgated for the position of Asst Manager HR or HR Officer on these portals. Find out what is done currently and what scope is there for improvement. You will understand the difference as to what change is needed.

While embarking on any change, make sure that the results are measurable. Did the change save any time, money or resources? This also must be give forethought.

To bring a change what matters is level of the empowerment in the company? Mere having desire to bring a change is not sufficient. Your superiors should be supportive too.

All the best!
