Hi, I'm a contract employee in an MNC company. However, due to my PO expiring, my client company has offered me a new contract. The issue now is that I have not yet resigned from my old company. I am unsure of what reason I should give to my old company for resigning. Please suggest.

You should obtain a clearance certificate from the old company for having surrendered/handed over the documents/assets, if any. Getting a relieving letter before joining a new company is always a good practice to avoid any complications that may arise at any time.

Hi Preeti,
Please check your current company's contract bond to see if there are any restrictions on joining a client company for 2 or 3 years after resigning. It is advisable to complete all formalities before leaving your current position. If necessary, obtain permission from your new employer to delay your start date or be prepared to pay a month's salary as per the contract bond for immediate relieving.
