Dear Senior,

I am currently working in a furniture manufacturing industry. I need to create an HR manual for our company and immediately start a CL/PL system. Could you guide me on the procedure and provide a working sheet for the same? Also, I would like to know how many CL/PL days one can avail.

Thanks in advance,
Radhika

Dear Radhika,

First, formulate all the HR policies such as Travel, Leave, Exit, etc. Your company HR manual should contain all the details starting from the welcome message (providing company details to new joiners), selection procedure, joining formalities, all the policies, and exit formalities. Include all the necessary formats in the HR manual required for an employee.

You can begin with the welcome message, followed by the company profile, your company vision, mission, values, HR policies, eligibilities, working conditions, and terms of employment. For leaves, you can provide the following once the employee completes probation: PL - 21, CL - 4, SL - 5.

Dear Radhika,

You can implement the leaves as follows:
Yearly PL - 42
Yearly SL - 10

The leaves shall be calculated as 3.5 per month, and the earned leave will be the balance. From the balance leave, the employee can avail more than the leave balance; it will be treated as Loss Of Pay (LOP).

For sick leave, 3 days can be approved without a medical certificate. After 3 days, a medical certificate would be compulsory, or else it will not be approved. Sick leave of 10 will be credited at once, no monthly calculation for that.
