Hi there,

We are conducting a survey for one of our clients and need to analyze the results to determine the overall Public Satisfaction Rate as a percentage (%). The survey uses a 6-point scale ranging from 1, representing "Extremely Satisfied," to 6, representing "Don't know." An example Excel dataset is attached.

Could you please assist me in calculating the satisfaction percentage? Which formula should I use?

Thank you,

To calculate the overall Public Satisfaction Rate from the 6-point scale survey, you can follow these steps:

1. Determine the total number of responses in your dataset.
2. Count the number of responses falling under each satisfaction level (from 1 to 6).
3. Calculate the total number of responses falling under "Extremely Satisfied" (1 on the scale).
4. Divide the total number of "Extremely Satisfied" responses by the total number of responses and multiply by 100 to get the satisfaction percentage.
5. The formula to calculate the satisfaction percentage is: (Number of "Extremely Satisfied" responses / Total number of responses) * 100.

For example, if you have 200 responses in total and 120 responses are "Extremely Satisfied," the calculation would be (120 / 200) * 100 = 60%. Therefore, the overall Public Satisfaction Rate would be 60%.

Ensure to adapt this formula to your specific dataset to accurately determine the satisfaction percentage.
