Hello Everyone,
I am working as a recruitment executive in a placement consultancy, and now I am planning for a change. I have been selected as an HR executive in the Automobile sector. Up to this point, this firm has had no HR department, and they want to implement one. Please help me with how to start as an HR executive. Can anybody provide me with a list of activities for the first month?

Hi Sweta,
Congratulations on entering the HR sector! 😊
Since you have experience as a Recruiter, there should be no issues regarding recruitment.
Before implementing anything, familiarize yourself with the following aspects to facilitate effective communication with others:
1. Shift management of employees
2. Checking and updating personal files of each employee
3. ESI status
4. PF status
5. Attendance details
6. Leave status
7. Mode of salary payment
8. Working culture, etc.
You can then proceed with the following implementation steps:
1. Prepare an MIS in an Excel sheet:
a. Create a database of each employee with all details
b. Track attrition rate
c. List new joiners
d. Note resignations of the month
2. Utilize the MIS to identify employees with birthdays in the current month. Organize a small celebratory meeting on the weekend with a cake.
3. Introduce an 'Employee of the Month' award with the assistance of seniors. Present a certificate and, if possible, a memento to the chosen employee.
4. Generate a weekly attendance report and highlight tardiness or other issues to your senior.
5. Address any pending tasks related to ESI, PF, and other relevant matters falling under your purview.
You can undertake various initiatives right from the first month. Lastly, ensure to engage with each employee and convey your dedication to their well-being.
It seems like a long list, but keep in touch and do reply!
