Dear All,

I am a SAP-HR consultant. Now I have an offer from an MNC for an HR position. Should I join it? Which is more beneficial in the long run, SAP or core HR? Please do reply.

Thanks in anticipation.

Its absolutely depends on your skills and interest. If you are interested in Technical skills - Go for SAP HR As such Both are goods.

Hi,

My suggestion is that since you are already an SAP HR consultant with an excellent future, consider staying in this field for opportunities for a change abroad, higher earnings, and an improved quality of life. It is advisable not to change your career path because there is limited potential for growth and fulfillment in HR, resulting in an unsatisfactory work-life balance.

If you aspire for increased financial benefits, overseas travel, and a more peaceful lifestyle, transitioning to SAP HR might be the right choice for you. Recent surveys indicate a shortage of skilled SAP HR professionals, indicating a high demand for such expertise in the industry.

Dear Akhilesh,

It entirely depends on your area of interest and what you enjoy doing. If you feel that you want to explore other aspects of HR besides the technical SAP - HR, and the position is offering you that, you can go for it.

Thanks,

I guess the biggest difference is in the pay structure. Usually, in the long run, SAP HRs would make much more money than an HR generalist just because of the additional technical skills.

And the work is also completely different. As a generalist, you can grow towards the business side, and SAP would take you as a technical consultant.

it is depend on your interest and talent if you feel you can do better in SAP than go to their. The only thing you see here is your satisfaction and career. zafar iqbal

Dear Akhilesh,

I am with Richa. This is true - SAP HR is a path to making more money than a HR Generalist and also provides the opportunity to move abroad (more scope). So, move forward and achieve your goal. Wishing you great success!

Hi Akhilesh,

I am a Senior SAP-HR functional consultant with over 8 years of experience. I would highly recommend that you consider pursuing a HR position in an MNC since, in the long term, there are more opportunities for career growth. With respect to SAP-HR, the scope is limited to becoming a Team Lead or Project Lead, whereas in General HR, you can progress to the level of Director or Executive. I am also considering transitioning into the General HR field.

You have an important decision to make.

All the best,
