Dear Priyanka,
The city of Mumbai is under lockdown, and there is no certainty that the lockdown will be lifted. It could get extended as well. Amidst this, first, check whether it is advisable to recruit new persons. They might work from home, but if possible, hold off on the recruitment until the lockdown is lifted.
I suggest this because a laptop is a capital asset, and when the asset is handed over to the employee, you must maintain a physical record. You need to make a proper agreement with the employee mentioning the maintenance of the asset, its return in proper condition, and, above all, establish the recovery percentage for any loss or damage arising out of negligence. Have you completed all these steps? If not, then it is not advisable to hand over the laptop.
Thanks,
