Hope everyone is safe right now and in the best of health. Looking at the current lockdown across the country, how do you see the recruitment scenario post-lockdown? Maybe something after June 2020. Which sectors will see an upward trend in terms of recruitment, and which ones will see a downward trend? Please share your thoughts.

Hi,
Looking at the current lockdown situation in the world, our economy is being greatly affected, causing a negative impact on all sectors, especially in recruitment. Small companies are struggling to sustain and are implementing layoffs in their organizations. It is uncertain when this situation will come to an end. However, if you are interested in knowing about the sectors, in my opinion, the IT and Pharma sectors are less affected in terms of their business.
Thank you.

Hello Richa Madam,
Yes, you are right. The recruitment and training industry is going to be greatly affected. Considering the current scenario, I feel that people will avoid changing jobs, especially by relocating to a new city, so new opportunities will indeed be scarce.
IT and Pharma sectors may experience high demand, but we will also witness significant competition. In my personal opinion, I don't foresee recruitment improving until September/October 2020.
Let's hope for the best and pray that the almighty saves everyone from this pandemic and provides a cure for those who are suffering.
Regards

IT and Pharma will be on the prime move. The FMCG segment will be as stable as it caters to basic needs. WFH Associates/Executives will be new job designations, especially in the IT segment. Let's hope for the best and stay positive.

Hi Manishaji, the work-from-home style position will surely increase in the coming days. This trend might boost third-party payroll services and help in saving costs incurred towards infrastructure setup. While not all sectors can adapt to this methodology, many will look for such options to save costs and increase productivity.

The main industry that will get affected because of the lockdown is the recruitment industry. The candidates won’t change their jobs and say yes to new/better opportunities. There could be chances that work from home will be in trend after the lockdown. Most of the sectors will suffer because of lockdown and there would be less or no jobs available. These sectors might be looking for other strategies to save the cost or manage the hiring process. And there are some sectors such as IT and pharma that will have no effect on their business. The recruitment industry will get stable after September and that’s a positive thing for the candidates.

Right, the recruitment industry is going to suffer a lot. I don't think recruitment will start smoothly before Diwali unless there is a very important position to be filled. Even training and development are also going to suffer just like recruitment, as that is another area in which companies will stop investing until the next financial year.

As the CEO of a recruitment company, I won't say it is a good time so far for us, the recruiters. Negatives arise when we consider the lack of interviews, job fairs, offline placement trainings, and the inability to conduct 100% placement-assured online programs. Many industries are deciding to hold new hires for a minimum period of six months.
However, there are positives as well. Many companies may shift their focus towards digital marketing, leading to increased hiring opportunities in these fields. Sectors like private banking and insurance remain highly operational, with telephonic interviews already being conducted for upcoming positions.
Recruiters may need to concentrate on gathering local profiles due to restricted travel opportunities, a situation expected to continue for a significant period. Candidates are eager to seize any opportunities that come their way, given the uncertainty surrounding the post-COVID scenario.
Online and social media platforms can be effectively utilized by recruiters to communicate upcoming changes or HR strategies. Online training platforms are also very active.
