Sir, is all recent government advisory applied for full payment to the contract workers in the lockdown period? In the case of contract labour, if they refuse to work during the lockdown, are absent from duty, and ask management why they should come to work if the government circular mandates full payment from the company, when our company is willing to provide employment since we are in an essential service industry (Coal Mines)?

In case of any misconduct by contract labor, you may proceed as per rules. However, if contract laborers are asked to stay at home due to COVID lockdown, then they must be treated as on duty and paid full wages with allowances.

Thank you.

Hi, Are private companies bound to pay contractors for their monthly bill payments during lockdown? Since no services were rendered, companies should not issue invoices. However, if the workers are on the contractor's payroll, the contractors are responsible for paying the workers. I need advice on any government documents related to this matter, if possible. Thank you in advance.
