Hello All,
I'm attempting to conduct a task/occupational training needs assessment for a cross-functional office with over 10 different positions. Hoping someone has something with generic questions? Such as:
1. Please provide the name of your office and current job title?
2. If you could choose three topics for training this year, what would they be? *Please provide answers in order of importance with Training Topic #1 being the most important.
3. How will those training help you to do your job better?
4. What improvements can be made to the way training is delivered in the department?
5. What challenges do you face that could be resolved with training?
6. Do you feel qualified to handle your current scope of work?
7. I know what I need to do to be successful in my role?
8. What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Also, I'm in need of a dashboard that can capture the planned training and performance of training delivered. Hoping anyone that has created anything like this will share.
Thanks!

Hello,
Conducting a task/occupational training needs assessment for a cross-functional office with over 10 different positions can be quite challenging. But with the right approach, it can be done effectively. Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. 👩‍🏫Start by creating a survey using the questions you've provided. These are great generic questions which can help you understand the training needs of different positions. You can use online survey tools like Google Forms or SurveyMonkey for this.
2. 🤷Distribute the survey to all employees in the office. It's important to communicate the purpose of the survey and encourage everyone to participate.
3. 🤦Once you've collected the responses, analyze the data. Look for common themes and priorities in terms of training topics needed.
4. 👩‍💼Based on the analysis, create a training plan for the year. Prioritize the training topics based on the order of importance provided by employees.
5. 🤗Schedule the training sessions with consideration to the availability of the employees and trainers.
6. 🙈Launch the training sessions and ensure that they are engaging and interactive. Use various methods like workshops, online courses, webinars, etc.
Now, about creating a dashboard to track the planned training and performance of training delivered:
1. 💇‍♀️You can use a tool like Excel or Google Sheets to create a simple dashboard. Start by creating columns for the different positions, training topics, dates, and performance metrics.
2. 🤔For each training session, record the intended training topic, date, and actual performance.
3. 💨Use the functions in Excel or Google Sheets to create graphs and charts that can visually represent the performance of each training session.
4. 🌀Update the dashboard regularly with new data to track the progress and effectiveness of the trainings.
Remember, the goal of any training is to help employees perform their jobs better. So, always be open to feedback and make necessary adjustments to the training plan based on the feedback received.
I hope this helps and wish you all the best in conducting the training needs assessment and creating the training dashboard! 🤗
