Suppose the basic salary is Rs. 6000, and the employee was absent for 5 days. What is the provision regarding the Provident Fund deduction for that particular month? Will the amount of basic salary be reduced due to absenteeism of 5 days, or will the PF deduction remain the same, i.e., (6000 * 12% = Rs. 720) for both the employer and employee?

Please also explain the same situation regarding ESIC deduction.

Dear Reyansh, As stated by you, employee was absent for 5 days thus his basic will be as per the remaining days and PF also to be processed on actual basic paid for the month.
