Yes, he needs to be covered since for the both Acts, an employee is an employee whether he is part-time , full time, temporary or contract worker. B.Saikumar HR & Labour relations Adviser Navi Mumbai

Hi Deepak,

One of the best ways to learn and become a better decision-maker is through case studies. There are several case studies on the links given below:

Dear Deepak,

If your establishment is covered under ESI and EPF, then all the employees, irrespective of their nature (contract, casual, temporary, permanent, or other), are to be covered. They are either through the contractor or in the absence of the principal employer.

Oh my God... Does anyone doubt that UP is also part and parcel of Constitutional India? All central and state rules are applicable all over UP, including cities, towns, villages, etc. This applies to any limited company, factory, shop, hotel, etc.

MW Act, Shops and Estt. Act, Workmen's Compensation Act, Equal Remuneration Act, and all labor acts are applicable to UP, just like all other states and UTs of India. Any employer and management should be legally bound to comply with all labor laws of the Indian land.
